Lying prone on the ground, hand held Canon 1DX Canon 100-400L S 11, Auto ISO 250, 1/250 sec f11.
I reckon this damselfly had recently emerged from my garden pond, probably within 24hr, the colour is still developing. About 2-3 min after I finished photography it flew only to be snapped up by a great tit and fed to the fledglings.

Tasty indeed! I really like this, the colors contrasting greens and reds, the parallels created by the reeds, and the fresh damsel, soon distressed. My only wish and a very minor one at that is for a bit more of the lovely environment in a slightly looser composition, but it looks like you were avoiding some in-focus reeds on the right and right bottom perhaps. Nonetheless, outstanding.

Love the colors and vertical lines here! The BG is lovely and soft and the damselfly sharp.
