Callas have been photographed so many times by so many. Still, I can't resist.
This is a through focus composite (stack).
D800E 200mm f7.1 iso100 1/200 two remote flashes (one behind the bloom with white plexiglass in between, on in a box in front), tripod, camera tethered to a laptop with Helicon Remote software, 170 images made into a single composite in Zerene, some retouching of the flower edges in Zerene, some spots and imperfections removed in Photoshop.
The color was intensified in Photoshop with a color burn layer at low opacity (~20% I think). The color burn is a new processing step for me, perhaps I overdid it. I am not a big fan of increasing gamma and am trying to counter the somewhat washed-out look I sometimes get with the flashes, particularly in high key.

Just gorgeous, as always! Wonderful color and texture with delicate tonalities. You've managed a different twist on a flower I can't resist, either.

Different, interesting and very well executed Ron. I don't even begin to understand the way you did this but I like the result very much.
