Down by the Oslo Harbour (Canadian for Harbor)you can find the Akershus Fortress. You can tour the grounds between 10 and 4 in summer. It is a wonderful site for photography, there's something for everyone.

I took this merged 3 photo image using my iPhone and used CS5 and Topaz Simplify 3.

I used the "paint by numbers illustration procedure" that was posted by a OOTB person a few years ago but my old mind just can't remember who. Using Edges and gradient tool to paint parts of the image and leaving some of it as a sketch.

    Thanks for looking..

I really like this "paint by numbers" effect! The sketchy reflection turned out fantastic. And here I was thinking that 10 - 4 gives you mostly harsh light that is difficult to photograph in. But great job with this!

The reflection and the processing are really nice. I might consider adding a few points to the neutrals (midtones) via selective colour > add black. Great composition. (Just took at look at the link that Dennis posted, I take back about adding to the midtones, now that I know what you were trying to achieve)

I like what you did. It's an effective treatment, and the way you applied it emphasizes the depth in the scene.

It was Dave Woeller who posted the paint-by-numbers image. Here's a link to it

Love the processing. One question I have : are the buildings leaning like that in reality? When I posted some photos of downtown Chicago the buildings were leaning and Diane (I think?) guided me through using distort to straighten them.

Interesting buildings. The processing works nicely, especially for the top part. I wish the reflection had more contrast or punch. I don't mind the distorted buildings.
I do wish that little bit of building on the right were not there.

When you write that you merged 3 images, what do you mean?

Hi Anita. What I mean is: I took three photos without moving my position, one of the bottom of the above image, one of the middle and one of the sky and using CS5. Using all three images, I created 1 image of the whole scene. Photomerge. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand. Have never tried this.
