Canon 5DMIII, 500mm f4/L II + 2X ExtenderIII. ISO800 1/250 at f/8. Gitzo Series 5 tripod with Wimberley head. I was shooting birds near my feeders on a rainy afternoon when a flock of about 10 Western Tanagers came by and stopped in several different trees, then continued on. Western Tanagers have never eaten at, nor come near my feeders, including these, so I won't say I used food to attract them. However, they may have felt safe to stop near my back yard because many other birds were there at the time, 10-20 yards away. The Tanagers were all pretty wet, but they were strong and active so I assume they were healthy.

This is a nice story-telling image. And lucky you to have a flock of 10 of these beauties visit you. That bright pine in the foreground is distracting and I'd try some photoshop techniques to try and tone it down.

Lovely looking bird and fun to see it wet. The FG is distracting for my taste, and I would definitely take some off of the bottom.

    Welcome to BPN!

I like the pose and nice colors, I agree the main issue here is the busy FG, cropping from the bottom helps

That wet look looks great...it almost looks like a flaming hot rod paint job! Quite the splash of colours. Yes, that oof pine branch is unfortunate, but it is what it is. Hoping to see more form you!
