Here's another pose from the Blue-Winged Warbler the other day, calling his Bee-Buzzzz call. I decided to keep him small-in-the-frame on this one (this is full height, cropped from horizontal to square). I don't often use (or often like) square format, but in this case I thought it suited the situation. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

It works for me, it's good to see something different to the anticipated presentation. It's a fine looking bird, well lit and focused. I also like the caterpillar eaten leaves, I can anticipate the bird going to look for the caterpillars.

A striking image here Bill. I'm not keen on square aspect ratios but you can only work with what you have got.

Nice light and detail, Bill. Agree with your cropping. Very nice open feel to the image. The green BG works extremely well with this warbler.

Nice singing pose of a beautiful Warbler, Bill. The crop you chose is unconventional but works.

Thank you all. Here's a tighter, perhaps more conventional, crop. But I like the OP; I thought there was something refreshing about the "open feel", as Geoffrey put it, with lots of room around the bird. The tighter crop also seems to accentuate the somewhat steep POV. Thanks for looking.

The tight crop looks good at web size for sure, but it's too big a crop for me. I'd live with the square if I had to though that ain't my fave aspect ratio.

Nice bird, lovely pose. Did well here Bill!

repost is a major improvement, I wish the angle was less steep but everything else looks good
