    Default Black Oystercatcher

I had the wonderful fortune of finding a pair of these birds last night at one of my favorite spots. They were incredibly tolerant of me, and at one point came foraging towards me.
Not easy subjects, even when they stick around for awhile. Tough bgs--but, hey--this is where they live! :)

Great find, details and exposure control. For a cleaner BG you probably have to be on the ground.

Wow I love this Bonnie Excellent detail and exposure as well as wonderful eye contact. I think you did a great job capturing this image and the BG is a part of the natural environment. Fine work !!!!

    Hi Bonnie,
I think this one is your best of these yet. I like the little bit of water he's walking into and the moss and shell bits give a good sense of his environment.

Nice one Bonnie - always great to have cooperative subjects and you took full advantage! I don't mind the environment, it's just the small clump of shells/pebbles behind the legs that were at an unlucky spot. Wondeful image as is though :-)
