    Default Field Sparrow - Bittersweet...

This is my first good photograph of this species after a few years trying for it. For the local people, this was taken in the "sparrow fields" near the airport. Bittersweet because a couple of days after I took this image, "No trespassing" boards came up (these fields are owned by the airport). I suppose tighter security is finally catching up everywhere...

These were the best fields locally to bird watch/ photograph in (in my opinion). Especially for grasslands species. For years they were the go-to place for many people in search of those. I guess we were lucky to be able to wander through fields so close to an international airport...but alas, it's the end of an era! I have to be grateful for the many great images I have been able to create there

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, almost FF, a stray twig removed. At first I eliminated the separate part of the perch, but it then felt "bottom thin" so I left it for balance. Audio used.

    Very nice frame Daniel.
Good comp with perfect head and body position.
I agree with you leaving in the bit of perch in LLC.
I might consider a version with the green BG desaturated a bit.
Too bad about losing access to this spot.

That green BG is really in my face, so I echo Gail's comments about desaturating perhaps a tad.
Lovely frame, well positioned bird and a really well taken image.
    Bummer about losing access man.
I have a similar problem, but it is due to habitat loss from urbanization and progress. So they say.

A shame to lose a great photography spot, but you made the most of your last day there. I like your decision to include the other branch.
