    Something a little different from me. This was captured in a small nature reserve close to my house, and the early morning light was perfect to show up this male Ostrich. I did capture this vertically in camera.

    Canon 1D Mark IV
    Canon 300mm F/2.8 +2X TC = 600mm
    1/1600
    F/7.1
    ISO 640

    Manual exposure

    Wonderful detail and different, very striking pose. The eye is wonderful!

    Yes this looks god to me, I particularly like the colours and the fine detail against the subtle background.

    great composition with the long curved neck and nice details, I'd be tempted to blend the small OOF spot above the head

    Unusual image. I like the way the neck is going backwards into the frame.
    Agree about the little blob above the head.

    Hi Stu - Love the comp, gorgeous light and beautiful detail. I agree about the blob behind the head but not a deal breaker for me. Nice one.

    Great looking portrait Stuart. I really like the comp you chose and how the curved neck fits it well.Nice details and colors. I only wish that the upper quarter of the BG was as smooth as the lower half. Yes to cloning out the blob over the head. Nice capture Stu.
