The juvies still have feathers on their head and don't have the bright pink on the wings. Newly fledged spoonies also have brown eyes. I think this guy is probably a year old or so.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Took this in Fort Myers this April.

    600mm II
    ISO 400 SS 1/2500 Av 7.1
    Taken around 8:00AM
PP:Very small crop, usual LR5 sliders, levels in PS5,USM to JPEG
I did a version of this image with the BG shoreline dodged to lighten it up but I didn't like it. The shoreline gives the image depth ( I think) but feel free to disagree with me!!

Beautifully captured Gail. Love the light, soft reflection on the water and the water drop completes the image.

Very nice image, Gail. The head turn and eye contact are perfect, so is the IQ. The water droplet is a nice feature. The only thing I might change if possible , the horizontal darker area at the head level.

Hi Gail, exquisite light, and in turn you have exposed this so well. You pressed the shutter at the right moment with regards to getting a good HA, and of course, timing the falling droplet. Love the calmness of the water too.

I can't tell you anything you do not already know about this image. Nice image Gail, thank you for sharing.

Great pose enhanced by the water drop, I like the clam water but find the shoreline a bit distracting. Colors are a bit dull and can go a touch warmer

Much better than the thumbnail looks. The light and it's angle is perfect and the exposure and details look fantastic. It has a nice 3D effect to it. Love the water drop. Nice work Gail.

The distant shoreline cutting across the head is all I'd be inclined to try and change during the capture.
Otherwise a mighty fine image Gail. Love the water droplet off the bill. Way cool!
