    Taken as the sun was setting. One of my favs from my recent trip to Florida.
    Am looking forward to your thoughts. I could have lightened the shadowed area but I really like the play of light and shadows.
    Canon 1Dx
    ISO 800 SS 1/1000 f 6.3
    PP :About 65% FF, clarity slider +15 and saturation +5, increased exposure by .5, then off to photoshop for levels and NR to BG.USM to JPEG

    Now that's a unique Dowitcher shot. The pose and bg are terrific. I don't mind the side lighting; in fact it adds to the image. But I might have tried to even out the brightly lit wing and shaded portions just a bit (judicious use of s/h tool?) In any event, it's a great capture that I wish were mine.

    Beautiful picture . Just somethingabout the head angle which I can't think how to improve a bt. Superb BG too

    A very angelic pose, and I love the dangling feet and tail spread! Great light and light angle - I'm OK too with the shadows in this case. Fantastic BG to boot. I imagine this was an after-bath wing flap?

    Fun image, Gail. Love that gradient BG and the pose is priceless! Nice to have catch light in that one and the dangling feet are a big plus along with the wing symmetry.

    nice capture,looks like an angel,loverly BG,some nice detail,looks like the focus was on the tail,not saying it is a easy shot to take,but still a nice image.

    Really cool image Gail. Love the pose of the wings and the droplets of water below. Those add to it for sure. :)
