    With these old eyes of mine afraid I can't find any nits unless there is a tiny bit of noise in the Bg,think it's a very good portrait ,beak to shoulder there is a lot to cover, nice job well done Will.

    Between the dirty face and the dishevelled plumage this individual has seemingly gone through some tough times! Neat marbled BG, and I like the vertical composition. I'd likely brighten the eye if mine...

    Thanks for the comments Gail.

    It forms a superspecies with Cocoi HeronA. cocoi and Grey HeronA. cinerea. Indeed some authorities consider Great Blue Heron to be a sub-species of Grey Heron.
