Nice position and good wing strech There is a weird red halo surrounding the bird and it is more pronounced around the legs
John
I was noticing same thing John.....almost like a bleeding of color. Most notable on bird's rt wingtip.
The smoothness of the feathers combined with all the water surface highlights make a bit soft vs busy type image.
RAW?
which converter?
I have sometimes gotten that bleeding with red/yellows using ACR
This was an older image when I was trying a new.different workflow in CS3 and must have done it with this image and didn't realize it. It messed up a lot of my images. sorry!

absolutely no need to be sorry Bill, we all learn even after many years ....hope you easily get the dilemma worked out
Great pose captured. Adding to the other comments I would sharpen the bird a bit more and run NR on the upper part of the BG. It is a bit tight in the frame for my taste. Maybe you can add some canvas if you have.
Agree with all fo the above but great timing and action in this capture Bill . Many thanks fior sharing.
