Hi all it has been a while ago that i been here ... sorry for being so lazy .
So many African images .. break is needed , LOL.
So here is Mr seal back with an older image from Donna Nook (England) showing two bulls displaying there their thoughts to each other .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my last long gone posting ...
Hi Andreas - Glad to see you posting in Wildlife. We missed you! Nice low pov. Great that you can see the teeth. Pano crop works and techs look good. If it were mine I would reduce the blues in the seal on the left but not a deal breaker and you were there.
Thanks Rachel for your reply , much appreciated , others also seem to take a break as far as posting numbers/comments go , but life i going somehow this way .
Re blue color .... well i was there and in the original capture i have far more blue than here , the blues are coming from the reflection of the sky color , and the wet fur multiplies it a fair amount , so for me it works .
Hi Andreas, good choice of F10 to have both of them in sharp focus. love the expression of the one on the left. I wish to see more of the one on the right, but not sure you have more on the right. Loi
Lovely interaction, Andreas! Welcome back, I missed you too:)
I like what you captured here, pano works very well and I love the composition/space around the subjects, but especially that golden tinge on both seals' muzzles - this is where my eyes went as soon as I opened the thumbnail:)
I only saw a couple of seals once in my entire life, sadly no memory of their fur colour whatsoever... In this case the lighting/sky, or perhaps 1/640s might play a role when it comes to the blues, I am not sure Andreas...I have to trust you on this, especially knowing how particular you are about colours and colour casts
For me the focus in this frame falls on the face and teeth of the character on the LHS - great expression from him, teeth showing, nice detail on the eye, I do not expect more detail on the fur because of the water running off his back. The wave suggests movement and adds to the drama, some close contact pending - I find this quite exciting... well done Boet!
I am really sorry for coming in so late, by the time I got to your image the other night - I did see it freshly uploaded - electricity went and the UPS just gave me a few minutes to shut down. I am afraid it is going to be like this for some time. Sadly, no water from our taps either for the past few days and it looks like it will take two weeks for this new issue to be sorted... By the way, I am kind of envious of those two seals, they are surrounded by this huge body of water...
Andreas, keep those images coming please, I might be late with my replies but I shall not miss any of your posts
Hi Gabriela thank you a big bunch for your very kind reply , as always much appreciated .
Sorry to hear about your issues with power and water , hope for you guys it will be sorted out quickly .
Yes the sky is causing the blue reflection on the wet fur , have that effect on all seal images in my collection when taken the images under a blue sky , i already reduced the blues by roughly 60 % . And when it comes to color preferences ....... you know all personal !! . I was thinking i would like to keep even more of the blues ....... but thought about Rachel and her blue aversion ......LOL ! The SS does not play a role from my POV in this case , but would have preferred a faster SS . By that time i was shooting in a different way/kit so results would be slightly different ...... in theory !!!!!
Hi Andreas - great moment you have captured here, i liked the sharpness where it mattered and also the bluish cast looks good to me. was the noise reduction applied ? or is it due to the wetness that the fur looks a bit soft lacking in details ( for the LHS seal ).?
