    Default anhinga

This was taken in Venice, Florida, but not at the rookery.

Love the results you are getting from the Iphone Dennis. The bg is outstanding and I love the reflected light off the wings. Beautiful feather detail.

Just wondering....when you take a photo with the iPhone, how large will it print out?

First, the fine print: I rarely print any of my images, so I have very little experience. I've read a bit about print quality, which doesn't make me anything even approaching an expert. Nevertheless, here goes. The pixel dimensions of the TIFF files that I got from my phone for the photos used for this image are 3264 x 2448. With a 300 ppi print resolution, an 8 x 10-inch print should be just fine, and a somewhat larger one would likely be acceptable. Some iPhone camera apps will permit lower quality output. That's fine if you're not going to print, and it means you can take/keep more photos on the phone before running out of space. The long-exposure app I used for the beachball butterfly image gave me pixel dimensions of only 960 x 720. I think that's a free version of the app. If I'd realized that the output size was going to be so low, I'd have opted to buy an app with higher quality output. So, it all depends.

A photo of an Anhinga drying its wings is required for anyone going to Florida. Love the image you've created. I also love my iPhone.

The iPhone is certainly a handy, and not-so-bad camera! Interesting to see the images from it. I have an Android and have not explored any apps yet.

A classic Anhinga pose with a cool OOTB bkgd!

If you do artistic effects on a iPhone image, where sharpness isn't a major factor, you can generally up-size it a lot and get a good print. The main problem with how big you can print is that up-sizing softens detail by needing to interpolate pixels. You can view at print size in PS to get a good idea.

I thought I had replied earlier to the image itself but see I didn't. I love it when these guys do that -- definitely a must-get image there and you got a great one. They usually manage to have a branch or several in your way. I love the slightly off-angle view.

You are doing outstanding work with your iPhone!

I like how the bird takes center stage. Excellent use of textures. (The Joel Olives textures can be challenging to use) I like the darkened edges. Beautiful colors matching bg and bird. The straight lines of the fencing create a good grounding for the bird and the curves in the image. I like the pose of the bird. Nice catch light. I like everything about this image!
