Nice image Will, it looks very similar to the Laughing Gull and Franklin's Gull that we have in Florida. Not seeing the bird I am not sure of the color but it does appear you may be able to darken the blacks a tad without loosing detail. Thank you for sharing.

I like the low viewpoint in this image. Good detail in the whites without burnout. I have been photographing these in flight just lately and have found that in certain light the head is more brown than black, or perhaps this is a juvenile. Love the soft background.

Hi Joe, thanks for that, even though its name is Black Headed Gull, the head is chocolate brown

Beautiful image, William. Lovely light on what I think is a juvenile. From the description I read, the head has more brown than the breeding male, and the tail is black. Very nice detail and BG. Well detailed eye with partial white eye ring. Well done.

Thanks David, yes the head does change colour in the light. The natural colour is choc brown. The juves are the ones with brown feathers on the wings. Great birds to photograph.

They keep you on yer toes, with them being so flirty

I like the image Will, You taught me something new, I did not know about the chocolate head, Good job on the exposure and nice details. I am seeing two distinct horizontal lines above the head that could be easily smoothed.

Nicely done Will. If you have the reflection, may be worth a look too.

Excellent low angle shot, William. A tiny bit of head turn towards the camera would have been even better.

Nice low angle and green background. Well exposed, sharp, good composition. I'm OK with the reflection and where you cut it off.
