    Default Glossy Ibis

Here is another view of this colorful Glossy Ibis captured at Brigantine a few days ago as we drove around the eight mile loop. As Bill mentioned they were flying in a predictable flight path, but often with the bright hazy sky behind. I was able to capture a few images as they flew lower against the pastel colored forrest. C&C welcome.

Hey Geoffrey, One of the best Ibis images I have seen. The background colors are just amazing to go with the colors of the bird. The image is nicely composed with a good view of the face and both wings. To my eye the image has a degree of softness to it, but it works well with the soft pastel colors.

Agree with the comment above almost pastel colour on the Bg bird fits beautifully into it, very nice indeed.

Lovely shot allaround and just my dream background. Nit picking I would drop the brightness globally just a little. Just my preferences-might give the image a little more guts so to speak. No deal breaker

The background colors really set off this Ibis, this is one I'd love to have in my files. Very nice. Agree with previous comments and also think maybe a touch darker would be nice but still beautiful as is.

Really fab looking image Geoffrey. I love the colours throughout, the bird goes so well with that BG. Good work and thanks for sharing.

A great look at one of these guys; the dorsal view shows off his wonderful wing colors very nicely, and the killer BG really complements it.

Thanks very much, John and thanks for suggesting a global reduction in brightness. Here's a repost.

Superb BG! I love the flight pose too. Well done overall, I realize most like the softness of the image, which is OK, but I think the image needed a bit more "oomf"" to it. I lowered the midtones in "levels" by 10 points, added contrast to taste, and burned the darker area of the subject. Also added a touch of reds (+10 points) to the color balance. Hope you like it.

A killer BG and a superb wing position.
    Colors are so beautiful.
I think the bird needs to be sharpened slightly and I agree that the bird is a bit washed out.
I would add 2 to 4 points of black to the neutrals in selective coloring in Photoshop. It would not affect the contrast as much as Daniel's version.
Well done and congrats on a lovely image,
    Gail

Daniel's RP is what I was looking for when I first saw your image. Just needed a little boost on an already pleasing image.

Thanks everyone for your compliments and suggestions. After seeing Daniel's version, which I like, I feel it might be truer color if as Gail said, adding a few more points of black to the neutrals possibly in my reposted image. I'll give it a look.
