I like this frame with the nesting material and the clear view of the red eye. but the shooting angle was a bit too steep here, I wish you had caught him when he was lower in the sky and possibly against a varied BG

I know exactly what you mean Ari and agree. While I did capture one earlier in a run with the foliage in the BG and at a much better angle but it seems to be lacking to me because of shadows, the light had just got too harsh at this point.

Hi Joe, love the full wingspread and the backlighting through the edge of the wings. Even though the angle is steep, love the view of the red eye.
I like the flying pose, and the shadow of the nesting material on the breast. I'm always surprised how dark the undersides of the wings are in these high-angle shots. You got good detail in this one. Wonderful eye!

I prefer the second image you had posted, for the POV especially. The clear sky in the first with a lower POV would've been ideal in that instance.
