    Sometimes the best things are in your own back yard. This Columbine is at the edge of a large patch of them, in a garden surrounding our swimming pool and spa.

    Love the columbine I keep looking at mine but the wind won't calm down enough! I like the spent flower in addition to the viable ones. Maybe next time take from a lower angle and I would suggest desaturate the green background a bit.

    Very nice detail and DOF on the flowers. I agree with Jonathan on the BG -- just too bright green. I'd try tweaking the hue as well as saturation, to move it toward being more analogous to the flowers.

    Thanks Jon and Diane. I understand your suggestions regarding the background -- the flowers are delicate and pale in color, while the background is a deep, rich green. I decided to leave it that way, because it is an accurate representation of the actual situation. But I may experiment with making the background less saturated, to see how it would look.
