    Smart looking bird Joe Like the hint of surf in the BG(If thats what it is ) Maybe lift a tad out of the blacks but no bone breaker.

    Hi Joe, I like the control of the blacks and whites on the bird. Lovely details aswell. Nice tones on the BG. The POV and the HA look good. Nice work.

    For my taste the bird is a bit close to the LRC, but there is nice light and good detail in the shot. Well done John!

    Hi Joseph a very nice and clean portrait of this species.
    As you have the subject hit by the sun , i would expect the blacks to be a bit more open . Maybe you can extract some more detail from the same .
    I am fine with the overall comp and love the FG/BG with the soft color /tone combo .

    Thanks everyone for viewing, commenting and offering suggestions to improve the image, very much appreciated.

    Andreas, easy fix, I just opened the shadows and cut back on the black a little. Thanks for suggesting that.
