another player in the backlight series.....this one at 7 am last weekend.
Light was directly behind and just gaining intensity for the day. Could already
    feel its warmth this early.

    400mm, ISO 800, f/7.1, 0EV.....and generally underexposed.
Liked that the egret was just making stealth water surface penetration

    thank you for continued input

    Hi Dave,
Nice soft morning feel to this one with a good balanced wing spread. I like the color of the water. The dark reflection in the water under his left wing seems a little out of place.

ditto about that dark reflection.....have no idea what it is Steve, but am going
to find out next time I get to this area. This is floodwater where I normally do not shoot
    Thanks

I like the soft light, water color, details, timing and pose. As mentioned, the dark reflections in the water are a bit distracting. Where is the dark spot in the water in front of the bird coming from? I can't figure out what the source is, unless you cloned something out.

I am totally lost about that dark reflection.
Here's from original unprocessed....it's maybe a reflection/shadow from distant tree top?
I did take out part of another egret body at right

Dave... I really like the feel of this image... The wing position and the feet just touching the water. The dark reflection doesn't particularly bother me personally.

    Nicely done.

I love the presentation and the detail is good

I believe that the bird is a great Egret and not a Snowy though

Lovely, lovely image, Dave. The soft feel and the great pose make it a winner for me. The reflection does not bother me.
