It took almost 3 hours to get this image, eventually I gained the bird's trust. Unfortunately every time it sang a stem or branch got in the way.

    Lovely image Jonathan,

...it sings to me without the subject having to perform, what a lovely BG - looks like the wind worked in your favour and created this superb effect, nicely exposed and sharp where needs be, harmonious colours and with an arty feel to it, a winner IMO - congratulations!

    Kind regards,

Jonathan this looks great,Bg broken up with the reeds works very well ,would like to see a version with a little taken from the right of the bird, just a thought of mine of course, little bird looks lovely, very nice indeed.

I like the dry marsh habitat and the look-back pose. Great view of the primaries stack above one another! Pointing your lens a bit more down and left would have been good IMO (unless there were obstructions beyond the frame). Your patience paid off....

I admire your dedication in regards to time spent. This type of scenario can be so contrasty with any kind of directional light....light quality here is perfect for the scene...bright but diffused. Well exposed. Great pose. Beautiful bird.

A real beauty Jonathan! I like the setting, light, IQ and details. If it were mine I would clone out the broken reed in the bottom LC. Your patience was well rewarded with this excellent image.
