    The strong yellow and orange certainly speak of Spring and are set off nicely by the dark background. Although I like the lighter brown and green lines in the background, I'd be inclined to do away with the whitish one in the lower right. Maybe the one at the base of the stem, too???

    Lovely treatment Mitch, I like the effect and colours you are getting with Impressions. I am in agreement with the stem in the LRC. The dark bg sets off the flower nicely.

    The flower is pure, primal brightness! I'd consider a vertical format with a longer stem and a bit more room at the top, to completely emphasize the over-the-top brilliant flower. And I agree with the others about removing the bluish shapes .
