Whether you call this species as Yellow-rumped Warbler or as "Butter-butt" this image shows why both of the names apply well to it.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp, darkened pupil, lightened iris, toned down the yellow rump as it was slightly clipped. Audio used.
Great clean image of this nice species, showing the field mark yellow rump, Daniel. Love the perch pose and background.
In fact the Cape May and the Magnolia Warbler also have yellow rump.
Agree with Karl, excellent display of his rump coloration, soft bg but with a bit of subtle texture, interesting perch without being overpowering, head up, all good.
I might consider a vertical version, because of the strong diagonal lines of perch and bird.
Lovely pose showing the butter butt. I'd rather call them Myrtle; they are really a lovely little bird despite their unfortunate name and their proliferation, at least in our parts.
Love the simple perch and the textbook view of the rump.
I like your comp but could lso see this as a vertical..
I really like the BG color that sets off the warbler so well,
