He was at the nest hole and at one point he covered up the hole with his wing.
The head disappeared under the wing.
I used a previous frame for the head.
    I hope it is OK.
    Thanks for looking.

Karl would not have noticed if you had not told us, like the way you have caught it with the outstretched wing, did wonder what it would look like if you cropped out the negative area to the left of the trunk, just a thought and personal view, and a nice piece of work just as it is.

Nice view of the yellow "shafts". Good PP work. Was he trying to hide the hole? I see some merit to Keith's crop suggestion.

Thanks Keith and Bill. I think he was just looking at the under wing. They do it to look for parasites if I remember correct.
    Here is the suggested crop.

Great call Keith, exactly what I was going to say, love the RP Karl, but perhaps a little less of the trunk and more to the RHS if you have the image content?

Like it too Karl, and my apologies for coming in so late - not much to contribute I know, just wanted to say I love your last RP and the colours are simply stunning, what an awesome avian capture!

Kind regards, and many thanks for taking the time to view and comment on my images, I do appreciate it

Smart bird, was it because of other bird of prey around?
Love the vertical crop. Beautiful shot.
