Doug's great BO frame inspired me to look at the frames I'd got with Dave Salem last year. This one was the first shot of our productive morning, it was over cast which meant we could shoot from any angle. Daddy owl was checking out our vehicle which we used as a blind

Excellent head on shot. The head/eyes are perfectly sharp. I like the expression on the face.

Lovely image of the owl in flight head on. The color of the Burrowing Owl is lighter than the same in Florida, ours are darker and more brown. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Arash a great head on flight shot , very well captured . DOF spot on ,lovely detail and sharpness.
I have never seen them in real life , so i might be wrong by saying i would give the owl a bit more tone , so see this as a subjective opinion.

My RP contains a gamma shift by - 30 , masked with the blue channel inverted and auto levels to the channel .

Thanks a lot Andreas, honestly I don't really see much of a difference between yours and mine, yours seems to be a tad more contrasty for the original scene (overcast with morning fog)

    thanks everyone

Arash there is no need for much of a difference , just a very subtle tweak and no contrast added , just some tonal depth .But this is my subjective view , must not fit yours .

    Hi Arash,
To me, the beauty of the image is the contrast between the dense thick marginal coverts and crown, and the translucent primary, secondary's, and tail feathers. I love this image. steve

Those eyes on him look pretty cool in the overcast morning and I like the pose with the fully spread wings and the hanging legs. Nice frame Arash
