    Just got my camera and lens back from Nikon, first photo taken with the Auto-focus adjusted...thanks Nikon. Put this photo here because bird is under feeder eating seeds...cloudy day explains high iso
    D300, 200-400, @ 400mm, vr off, iso 2000, f 4.5, 1/800

    Hey Paul!

    Nice job and ISO 2000 as well...pretty darn good eh? Looks like the AF is just dandy. I wish for a catchlight in the eye, a fill flash would have worked to give you that.

    Incredible for that ISO !! When I use my D300 usually like to keep it under 800 !!!! Looks great !!!

    As presented would lighten the face area just a bit Fill flash would have been fine !!

    I try not use a flash on small birds it scares them, Alfred its unreal the difference in my photos since Nikon adjusted Autofocus. I should have caught on earlier....kudos to Artie for noticing front focus on one of my images...paul
