    Default Theme: Light Picnic

A wide angle image of the picnic area behind the Santa Monica Mountains NRA visitor center. Converted to b&w in Alien Skin Exposure 7, using an IR preset to start. I was tempted to clone out the picnic tables, but then thought they actually added to the surreal nature of the image.

You started out with a great shot. The branches (particularly those on the right), the sun star, and the long shadows make a big difference, and using the IR effect really capitalized on them. Very nice perspective, too. And I like the picnic tables -- the two light ones especially.

An inviting place for a picnic! Good places for those who want sun or shadow. Lovely light and long shadows. Gorgeous branches. I'm finding the sun star distracting, but I may be a minority. This feels like a pleasant place.

yes, I like the picnic tables, especially that they are both light and shadow elements. My first "critique" thought was that perhaps you could darken the tree shadows that come forward to add more dark/light contrast but second look says perhaps the dark elements in the tree trunks provide that. Good depth

Just gorgeous!! If mine, I would experiment with a gradient burn in the LL and lightening the dark area UL. But those would be small tweaks to a beautifully-rendered scene.

Quite beautiful, I love the light and the trees. I agree the tables add to the desolate feel.

Lovely image, Kerry. I especially like the IR and the tables
