Theme: Shadows & Light

It was an amazing show of shadows and light as I watched a storm pass over these mountains in Kauai, Hawaii. Interestingly I saw many rainbows when I visited Hawaii.

I added a layer of topaz, simplify, buz sim and adjusted various areas with curves.

It's very dramatic, and the warm/cool color contrast is appealing. I'd be inclined, though, to open the shadows some.

Thanks Dennis & Mitch! Dennis, in the image I worked on the details in the shadows were a bit more visible. Something got lost in the posting of a small jpeg I suppose.

Dramatic. Too bad the shadow details were lost in posting. Perfect shadow and light image. It must have been a fantastic experience.

Agree, very dramatic, and love the colours of the hills. Curious where your vantage point was?

Thanks everyone! I was standing at a viewing point that had a parking area not to far away. Without the storm, the view also included a spectacular view of steep cliffs and a wide expanse of ocean.
