Default Great Crested Grebe sort of preening

Hi folks have been not very active in the past few weeks here , so coming back with a shot of the Grebe taken at a local lake which is lying right in town . Not right in ,but in one of the suburbs .
The location is quite interesting because of the fact the lake is built by man on an area that was a steel factory just 10 years ago , a chinese company came along and took down the factory as a whole and rebuild the factory somewhere in China .
The local government decided to build this lake for the public and the animals , slowly mother nature is taking over the place i have have seen already two species of grebes , some ducks , Egyptian and Canadian Geese and some Songbirds .
I will see what the future will bring for the nature , even if the area is not declared as a nature reserve , it is more for the humans in that area . But i really hope that the there will be enough space for nature finally !

Like the spikey head on this one. Piy about the reflection head chop but can't be helped. (hence my dislike of reflections anyway). Nice detail on this - a pleasant shot.

Hi Andreas, lovely low angle, and I like the curves of the neck and head. Light looks good, as is your overall exposure, and I do like the pastel blues of the water. The droplets add too.

Im glad this area is turning up for nature, and the more subjects know about it, the more it will flourish.

Very nice indeed Andreas, it looks a little familiar.
It is to all intents and purposes noise free, I would suggest the whites around the eye and bill are just a little bright.

    Hello Andreas!

I am truly impressed with your equipment capabilities - ISO 10.000, whew, this rocks

Love the reflection, Boetie! Beautiful colours and those water droplets on the wings add to the image, well exposed and really nice IQ, gracious pose from the Grebe - whatever experiment you did with new software, it paid off...Oh and there's a lovely glint in the eye - what more could I ask for?

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

I like the preening pose, wet look, IQ, ripples and composition. Very well done Andreas!

    Hey Andreas,
This is a nice image of the Grebe - I like the pose and the 'hair-do' - clearly a bad hair day!
    10,000 ISO - pretty amazing!

    Best wishes, Gerald

Neat pose, and I like the water drops on the grebe's back. Good details and IQ. Glad to see some real estate being put aside for wildlife :-)

Like it Andreas, nice pose and detail. I wondered about a slightly darker environment, just a hint on the Exp, or within TK???? Excellent at 10K.

Thanks Steve and Daniel for your comment .

Steve i tried to stick as close as possible to reality with the water , taken early morning with some sun filtered through very thin haze in sky and fog on the water .

    Thanks again , cheers Andreas

Very beautiful image. If anything, a lower angle at water level would've been tops.
    Ausgezeichnet! :)
