    Default Evening rose

Bless my brother-in-law for bringing full life back to my computer and topaz software!

As the spring progresses, I look forward to discovering the plants and flowers that are around the house that I just bought. There is one very lovely red rose bush in the front that gets the afternoon and soft evening light. Here the sun has dropped behind the trees but still has some soft light adding a glow to the roses.

Processed in Topaz Glow watercolor and Topaz Impression watercolor, and lots of PS fine-tuning.

This is nicely composed, and the soft background colors contrast well with the buds and the flower in the foreground. The limited depth of field is very effective in adding a bit of softness to the petals in the foreground.

The colours and light are beautiful Nancy. A whole new ecosystem awaits! I am glad you are getting settled. You have put in a mountain of work!

I'm glad to learn that you got your software back. :-)
I like this unusual view of a rose and buds. It makes me think. Love the little green things curving off the top of the buds. Luscious colors.
I'm finding a couple of things distracting: the tip of a rose along left bottom edge, and the bluish-green shape (leaf?) on the right side of the bottom edge.

Thanks all! I used this to create a Mother's Day card for my mom. Anita, those 2 items also bothered me and I worked on them to make them less distracting for my card.
