This was taken yesterday in my backyard. This male wouldn't perch where I wanted him so I moved in to get a close shot while he was on the feeder. I cloned out a section of the feeder in the top right and removed a seed from the beak. I hope he sticks around for a while so I can get a full body image. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Love these guys, it is great to have them back. Lovely portrait, and the f8 nailed it. Perhaps a little more canvas on the right, dunno.

Beautiful image Jim. You nailed this one perfectly. I love the colours throughout. Great pose HA and comp. I agree with Ron, maybe a wee bit more space. Well done

Beautiful portrait, Jim. I might catch up with them soon at Rondeau.

Great-looking portrait shot Jim. Good job with the exposure control and I really like the colors and this one. The open beak, smooth BG and the nice feather details make for a great portrait.

Hi Jim, good look back pose, and I like the mix of red and blacks on this fellow - well exposed too. I really like the reflection in the eye, it looks like one of your trees in your garden.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Stuart the tree is a big maple in the yard.
