Default Burrowing Owl Against Desert Colors

I visited a local Burrowing Owl colony yesterday hoping to find owlets outside the burrows. No such luck, but I did manage to get a few nice flight frames. Burrowing Owls are difficult flight subjects because they fly fast, low to the ground, and for short distances. Looking forward to visiting the colony a few more times this week. Happy Monday everyone!

Hi Doug, exquisite light, and what a great flight pose showing the full wingspread, and with a slight head turn. The colours of the BG compliment the Owl nicely. Hope you get to see the Owlets.

Nice really like the head turn and sharpness of the face. Shame you had not got down a little lower and made the entire BG the muted mix of colors as in the top half.

Classic banking pose with nice head turn. The IQ and the two-tone background are excellent, Doug.

I like it, beautiful little owl. Love the complimenting colors of the desert background and the owl. Thank you for sharing.

Fabulous. Rare to see one like this. Such tough birds to get in flight, and this with great head turn and wing spread. And lovely bg. No nits from me.

Great banking pose Doug with nice BG and Sharp! Funny we were both shooting the same variety of raptor at the same time with hundreds of miles between us

Killer flight pose and surely NOT an easy owl to capture in flight.
