Canon 7D2, 100-400 II at 300mm, ISO 800, f/5.6 at 1/2500. Hand held. 40% of the full frame. (I should have been at 400mm.) Late afternoon light a few days ago. Nesting is underway.

The wing position isn't "the ideal" but I thought it was dynamic enough to be interesting -- and the frames before and after in the burst weren't very pretty.

Good light, nice details and sharpness. Excellent stare and interesting wing position captured, Diane.

    Diane:

Not a classic wing position, but it makes me think he is directing traffic, "go that way".

    Soft light, well exposed.

I like the framing of the image.

    Cheers

Hi Diane, I would call this a 'waving' wing position, similar to Randy's directing traffic. Well exposed on the far underwing, and a great view of both eyes. Surely if you were zoomed to 400mm, you would have cut off one of the wing tips.
