    Default Black-necked Swan

This is not the best angle I desire normally but as it was shot in a nature reserve I couldn't manage to go to the place I wanted for lower angle. The rules must be kept! ;) This species is rarely seen photographed so I thought it might be interesting for most of you.
Anyway this one was taken by my first DSRL camera during my Chilean/Argentinean birding trip. Unfortunately my 1D MkIIN arrived just when I returned from the trip :( It was not so easy to play equally with blacks and whites but maybe acceptable for the eagle eyes as well :D

Please, tell me what you think about this image.

It's a great portrait and the angle is not so bad. I don't think I've seen this species before. You did really well on the exposure control. Could you post some techs?

Exposure for black and white is always difficult, but you've done a good job here.

Unfortunately on my laptop I don't have any original file with metadata. :(
I have only the usual data included above the image.

    Agree on Szimi's avatar !!!!!!! :)

Don't mind the angle at all if anything looks just a tad tight in frame Very fine image !!!!!!!

I'm really sorry for missing metadata but on this PowerBook G4 Aperture is not running as doesn't meet the requirements :( Thinking how I could get data out from the RAW.
    Only thing I know I used ISO200.

About my avatar: this is a crop from the forthcoming shorebird book I am working on including color plates and color images of shorebirds from all around the world. The avatar shows Eurasian Dotterel painted by Szabolcs Kókay, a very talented Hungarian bird artist. :)

    Hi Szimi,

Nice image of this Swan. I'm with Al, the angle seems ok to me. Great job on the exposure. Nice pose and bg too.

I like it. Difficult exposure was nicely handled. The blues in the water look great!

Very nice image. You could try and reduce the contrast and boost the gamma correction to improve the details in the white and black feathers if you wanted. I'd still be pleased to have this in my collection.

I really like the image, it is exposed very well and the angle is pretty decent. I think that the angle of the bird helps to balance the comp nicely:)

Thanks Gyorgy for posting this wonderful image of a rarely seen species. Very nice composition with good exposure and lighting i.. IMO I would like to see a little more space but still very nice as posted.

    Great shot Gyuri. :)

Good exposure control as already mentioned. BTW, I have seen the work by Szabolcs and it is quite impressive.
