I went out today and was looking for ferns that were a little more advanced, but they were just coming up. I ended up using some textures, Fractalius for a bit of sharpening (Shaggy), then decided it would look better as a monochrome and used a quadtone preset.

I like the way the more distant part of the fern fades into the background in terms of both tonality and focus. Nice job, too, in choosing the perspective to give good overlapping and space between leaves. The lighting is effective, also.

I Like the texture's, colors, corner to corner angle of the bud, and how the bud gets sharper as you go, a real beauty. Well done.

This is lovely with the delicate curves but I long for the real fern in fresh, rich green (:

I really like the tonality. Monochrome was the way to go. Ferns are wonderful subjects, but they have always eluded me. Very nice. I remember a photo book (probably late 60s) by Marion Morehouse with poetry by E.E. Cummings. The subject was ferns. Your image reminded me of that.

Beautiful capture of a fern. It feels soft, gentle, shy.

Stunning -- softness balanced with subtle texture, and lovely DOF to bring out the gorgeous FG leaves. This is one to frame!

Thanks for the kind comments, many bites on my arms from lying in the leave litter for this one. I took many and then I saw this beauty!
