I have some reservation over the underside plumage there appears to be a blue cast once I have converted to the web sized jpeg. I tried several adjustments to TIFF files to remove the cast (Selective colour, Hue saturation, Colour balance, Average blur) )where I felt I did achieve that but as mentioned once the jpeg was made the cast returned. Any suggestions would be welcome.
    All C&C welcome.

I like the composition and nice details. Good background too, just enough faint lines to give the impression of water. A wee bit better head angle would have lit up the face better, but still OK. I agree with the blue cast as posted, but I do not know why you are having the issue after posting...hopefully someone will be able to offer advice there.

It would be easy to remove the blue cast. I gave it a try , I hope you don't mind.
Very nice banking pose with nice details, Jon.

Don't mind at all Karl thanks for doing so. Come on then buddy spill the beans what did you do?
I have just found another way of colour correcting, this time I used curves setting the white black and grey points with the aid of Threshold - never done this before I think I need a little more practice! I think your version is better.

Good composition and nice details on this image. I like the background as it sets the bird off nicely, I would guess that it is the sea. Was this taken at Bempton Cliffs?

Very nice image Jon, I find Karls repost slightly better looking. Lovely details on the bird and a nice BG. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

    Jon:
Good comments from Daniel and the guys. Besides the wide spread wings and diagonal line, the next thing that jumped out to me was the cast, so glad you have removed it.

Its interesting how many different ways there are to treat color casts. No one gives good results with every image, but usually one can be found that will do the job.

    Cheers

    Hi Jon,
Sorry, I clicked on your name by accident.
There is nothing fancy about I did to your bird image.
I simply selected the bird, created a layer and I went to hue/saturation and I removed the blue and the cyan.
Then I added layer mask and I retained the blue in the beak and the eye.
