    Default Japanese Menu

I am finding it difficult to get back into processing my photos after after spending so much time in the very down-to-earth details of moving, unpacking, etc! Also, I lost my favorite Topaz software, Impression, after "cleaning" my computer and cannot get it reloaded ):

Anyway, this is a Japanese menu I found posted outside a restaurant in Tokyo. I added a texture overlay, reduced the opacity over the menu, then a watercolor layer from Topaz, Simplify, selectively removed from parts of the menu. Then some usual PS stuff. The meals there were fabulous and always beautifully presented. I felt like I was eating art!

If the food was anything like the menu, it must've looked good. The strong colors of the border are a great complement to the graphics on the menu. I like the lack of symmetry and the relative proportions of the menu and frame. The combination of the texture and the menu is is an example of synergy in art. Very nicely done.

At 2:15 am at work, this make me hungry for fish. I could easily order from this menu. The texture and colors really make the menu stand out. Nice work

Nancy, if the food is as beautiful as the menu it must be a work of art I like your subtle treatment so that the menu itself is the star.

I like the background colours and the off-center framing. I might be tempted to add another texture on top just to try another version. Sounds like a treat to have eaten in Japan!

Wonderful! Art is so much a part of the culture there.

Beautifully done. A beautiful menu turned into a work of art. I like the texture and presentation.
You can probably get Impressions again for free from Topaz. They are very helpful and will likely have a record of your purchase.
