Ruddy Duck

Late one afternoon in December of 2013 a pair of Ruddy Ducks was sampling the algae near the banks of a local river. C&C welcome.

D3s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/1000, f 6.3, ISO 1600, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

This is actually a lovely photo but just a bit dark to do it justice, I love the lilac tones. Judiciuos use of levels adjustment would give it a lift.

Thank you, Colin. I had debated whether to increase the late afternoon light, especially the last afternoon ray of sun on her neck, but as you suggested, levels improved it without sacrificing the mood.
