Hand held Canon 1DX Canon 500mmf4 Auto ISO 400 1/1600 sec f4.5, this male was a little preoccupied in telling another male to clear off out of his patch. I wanted to get a shot clearly showing his leggings but that didn't happen, he just wandered off.

Striking image, love the calling pose. Maybe more room at the bottom and a little less at the top, Jon.

I like the way that the bird is standing out against the diffused background. Looks like a typical moorland scene but of course it may not be. Good feather detail. Another vote for a bit off the top.

I love the environment here, A good blend from foreground to background, Nike pose and sharpness on the Grouse.

Hi Jonathan, nice calling pose and the colours & detail all work, good you retained the fine detail in the comb. I think you could have got away with f/4, agree with the others regarding more space below.

Hi Jon, excellent low angle and you managed a good angle on the Grouse too. I like the sharp detail and colours, and those colours in the top half of the image stand out nicely. Yes to a little more room below for the virtual legs.

Thanks for the feedback everyone I agree a little more on the base would help, I could stretch a little with content aware, the image is almost full frame - space top and right but not below.
