Considering how fast they are, at 1/1000, you did very well!
    Did you prefocus?

Very nice Karl, good colours and cracking BKG, separates the subject well.

An excellent capture Karl, not an easy subject at all. Great timing with the raised wings.

Being super critical (sorry!), the eye looks a little strange - is it partly covered by the dictating membrane?

That aside, this is a really good shot though

    Good one Karl
I wondered about the eye too. Easily sorted if you wanted too.
    Well gabbed anyway.

Karl the sheen on the head is smashing, agree with the others you have done very well to capture this, thanks for giving us a look.

Looks like it is balancing in the wind! I like the thin perch, BG, pose. I agree about the eye, bummer about the nictitating membrane but it would be an easy fix if you choose to do so.

The eye was the first thing that grabbed me. Super pose and nice BG.

I like the exposure control, wing position, perch and composition. We have lots of them over here now. Very well done Karl!

Hi Karl, lovely blue iridescence on the head, and I do like the swept back wings. Good two tone BG too.
