From March 2015 while practicing with a 7D ii, I captured this image of a Mallard in flight. I think I did pretty well on this one. 7D ii, 400 f/5.6, hand held, ISO 500, 1/2500 second @ f/8, manual mode. Post in LR 5: highlight and whites down, shadows up, + 15 NR, 40 % crop, out of camera sharpness and out of camera color. I used the adjustment brush to selectively bring up shadow on the speculum and I cloned out a small distraction in the water. Please critique and thanks. steve

Terrific flight pose and lovely colors. I like the composition you chose. Remember that with the 7D2, you can really push the ISO so don't be afraid to do so when you are in lower light and need that light.
Hi Steve, excellent flight pose with the full downstroke of the wings. I like that we can see all the colours on the Mallard, and it pops nicely from the water BG.
