I like pelicans, no, I love pelicans. These big goofy birds are magnificent in what the do. Great flyers once they get airborne, diving recklessly to feed. Very entertaining. I captured this image standing on the small beach at the City Pier on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Good work on the D7000 Joe Just enough info in the BG to indicate sea (or water) Good detail on the Pelican.
Wierd looking birds indeed. Love the tipped up primaries too. Well done Joe

Joe must get myself back to Florida maybe later this year, these birds I always think have an almost prehistoric look about them, you have made a cracking image of this one.

Hi Joseph, I love Pelicans too. Great flight pose here, and you have brought out good feather detail. Nicely separated from the water BG.

Great pose, Joseph, love the upturned wing tips, and a great sea background
