    The Bonaparte's are a prettier gull and more active and skilled in fishing than the ring-billed and herring gulls.

    I like the nice BG. wish the wings were fully raised, head looks a bit soft to me and I would move him a bit lower in the frame

    These guys are more like terns in their flight abilities...love this species! I've seen them wiffle and drop from hundreds of feet in the air in a matter of seconds....you can just hear the wind being cut to pieces! I like the perspective here...slightly above eye level. Light quality is very good. Exposure looks spot on. The head could have shown a bit better with a slight turn towards the light source...subsequently the eye lacks sparkle, though the coloration of the orbital ring comes through nicely.
