Default A touch of green for the nest - Spoonie

I was fortunate to go out with Capt. James and Marina a couple of weeks ago, on the Hooptie Deux. Always a great time. The spoonies were continuing to tweak their nest decorations, and gave us some nice flybys.

Post: slight crop from left, selective sharpening, bit of DE on underside of near wing.

I particularly liked the arrangement of masses in this image, seemed to balance well to my eye.

    Advice and comments always appreciated

    Cheers

I like the flight angle, nesting material, exposure, sharpness and composition. Very well done Randy!

Excellent flyby shot, Randy. The nesting material in the beak and the nice green at the bottom makes this image special.

What a lovely image, Randy. The pink on the far wing really stands out. The nesting material is a big plus, and I am really liking the green of the mangroves below! It was great seeing and shooting with you and James, and what a beautiful morning it was!! I'll be out on the Houptie Deux for the next 2 with my workshop, and we are hoping the sun will finally shine!!!

Excellent flight shot of beautiful and colorful spoonie. Superb exposure and details. Nesting material looks artistic.

Nesting material is cool, but when it has green it's even better. I'm a fan of the "wings down" position but you have enough light under the near wing to make this work. Nice blurred bg/environment too.

The green of the lower trees along with the nesting material really make this one pop with the nice pinks of the bird against the blue sky. Good wing position and HA and I like the details you captured. Very nice image Randy.

The mangrove adds a lot to the shot, I like it better than just blue sky.
