    Canon 30D with 100-400 at 100mm, f5.6 1/350sec ISO 200
    Slight crop.

This was my first experience of using a 'L' lens that showed me how even a humble body like the 30D moves up a notch when partnered with a high-quality lens. The wind was whipping round the cliffs and the AF did an admirable job keeping up with the birds.

    Mike:

I like the interaction and poses.

The wind created a lot of whitecaps which tend to compete with the birds for our attention. You might be able to mute them just enough to keep our focus on the birds, without it looking artificial.

    Cheers

    Thank you, Randy.
I may try masking the bird and applying a gradient filter to tone down the whitecaps as you suggest.

[I love the loon in your avatar, by the way]
