    Hello,

I wanted to share this portrait of a Double-crested Cormorant, which I hope you'll enjoy!

    Best regards,

Nice pose, and a great look at that emerald eye. I love the feather patterns and layers we get to see here - nice details too. Pointing your lens about one inch higher and to your right would have strengthened the comp IMO. I'm torn on the BG - the psychedelic waves are pretty neat but also compete for attention with the subject IMO. Not sure if could have opened up a tad (sharing your techs would help with potential suggestions), or place yourself a bit lower to throw it a bit more oof. Still a very nice image that you did pretty well with.

A gorgeous portrait of what can appear drab at a distance. I love it!

    Hello Ron,

Thank you. The timing of the shot was a bit challenging due to the fact that the cormorant and I were separated by a couple of floating docks at a harbor. When it would rise I would lower! I try never to crop my images so I had to work to get a decent portrait composition. Glad you liked it!
