I have to admit Rachel reminded me this was my 1,00th thread so I hope this is a suitable subject.

Super action shot Jonathan, love the bottom bird's look of suprize. I would be tempted to give more space in front and take some off the back (space allowing). Looks like you may have lost a little detail in the whites (which may be recoverable?) but it also may be my equipment. Thanks for sharing.

First of all, congratulations on your 1,000th post, and thanks so much for all of your participation on BPN. Love the environment here and the birds pop against that blue BG. The turn back pose on the female really makes this behavior shot special. Of course a lower angle would have been ideal, but I have a feeling you were up on a cliff somewhere so it wasn't possible. Thanks for sharing.

    Jon:

Congrats on the 1,000th thread! I like the two heads not merging, yet relating to each other. Simple fore and background keeps our eye on the birds.

Lots of crop options. Because the action is centralized and its the interaction of the birds that is the story, you could do a loose vertical that would work well, and other variations.

Again, congrats, and thanks for all your contributions.

Congratulations on your 1,000th thread, Jon. That is a lot of work! And 6,500 plus posts isn't done lightly, either.

I like the image - the birds really do stand out against the blue sea. Maybe take the crop a bit tighter from below and behind the birds.

    Thanks and well done.

Although I'm a "low angle" type of guy I have to admit the perspective here works for me. Perhaps due to them being on the edge of a cliff, with distant water oof behind them. I like the mating interaction and setting.

    Congrats for your milestone!
