Another pleasant image Joe. Little bit of info in the BG which is nice.( I would prefer more in fact but thats just me!) Good to see how the legs are longer and quite different to our Little owls
Cheers

Everytime, when i see this owl, i am a little bit sad about my failure trip,
but i am glad to see such as nice pictures here, like yours !! Good Work for me.
Hi Joe, personally I feel it softens the image and gives more standout, the previous image had everything (colours) competing with one another. I guess it comes down to personal taste and what you want to reflect, an image that conveys the setting/scene and more in keeping with the original capture, or a very punchy, heavily saturated image, your choice as the author/artist . Adding in some Midtone may help the brighter elements and add a little more 'depth/tone' to the body of the subject. Interesting to see another comparison, the legs, how thin they are and the talons, not so solid, really enjoying seeing these images and how they compare with ours.
Joe if you are running LR 5.7 you really should get into the realms of using PS CC2014, I appreciate it can be a steep learning curve, but your images will really take on a new dimension and will bolster the hard work you put into achieving the original capture. 'Elements' is putting a brake on the LR accelerator, LOL for a better analogy.
