I was hoping to get more than one in the frame at the same time but that was not possible.

    Hello Jonathan,

And sorry, I cannot help it, I have to do the girl thing and say..."too sweet"!

How tiny and fragile he is, and having so much space within the frame emphasizes just that. His shadow is just as tiny...a little bundle of fur in this big world:)

The kitten seems a bit upset, or sulking, and I do like this pose very much. Shall abstain from commenting on colours because I have never seen this species, you could always go for more vibrance but I gather you wanted a more natural look.

The sharpening is great on the subject, a little fellow this size must have soft fur and anything more than this would look unnatural. It is the grass patch in the same focal plane with the subject that seems a tad too sharp for me, in comparison with the rest. Did you blur the BG and FG at all? I just feel there's no smooth transition from sharp to soft - I could be wrong Jonathan, but I am just trying to convey the feeling I get as I am viewing.

I like the placement in the frame and presentation overall, the little brown patch of grass in the FG is a little disturbing and I would try lighten it.

Thank you so much for sharing - I enjoy viewing your images, very much

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Gabriela, glad you liked it - this one for especially for you!
I applied a small amount of NR (Topaz light) to the whole image and then I masked the rabbit. The in focus grass is just a reflection of the narrow depth of field, I did consider softening it but decided to leave the image as near to reality as practicable.
I have made composite images but have not posted them as the forum is not for that type of image.

Hi Jonathan - So cute and so small! The space around conveys the smallness well. My first thought was the same as Gabriela's, to back off on the sharpening on the surrounding grass a bit. Also was it on a slope? I wonder if it needs some cw rotation. Overall, a very pleasing image. Again, I think it is the simplicity as well as the subject that makes it so pleasing.

    Rachel

P.S. just noticed that your next thread is your 1000th, better make it a good one

    Congratulations on your 1000th Thread

And thank you once again, Jonathan. Also for explanation as to how you processed the image.

    Now it's My Rabbit Kitten!!!

I must admit I did not know that baby rabbits are called kittens:)

Have a lovely evening, hope you have time to post some more in this forum!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Jon, I think I prefer the previous one, but here I would have popped either the 1.4 or 2x on, I just feel the subject is floating in a sea of space as presented.

Nice photo Jonatian and very cute rabbit kitten. It seems to me the image needs a bit CW rotation too.
    cheers

Thanks very much everyone. The image is straight, the rabbit was on an incline.
