I sincerely hope that this can be considered the height of the forum.

Great unique looking bird! I like the how the blue set off the bird nicely. Composition wise the bird is too close to the left side of the frame. I would add a bit more canvas behind and below the bird a bit.

    Molina:

Very interesting markings on the head. Nice angle in the frame.

Agree with Raybel about too tight to frame edge.

If you haven't done so, I would try to do some shadow recovering to bring up the under wing exposure a bit. In fact, I would consider increasing the overall exposure about .25 of a stop, and then adjust the shadows to taste.

    Look forward to more.

    Cheers

    Good image

Gianluca sent me the raw yesterday for this one whilst we we discussing the merits of the ETL and the AVIAN forum

This is my repost of the same image

Using ACR to convert the raw then did some work on the underwing shadows, cloned out the dark shadowline on the lower breast and used a bit of Linear Burn on the highlights

The repost does justice to this beautiful shot and bird. Good work.

Beautiful image. I prefer Shane's repost a bit more, which pulls out some nice underwing details and lets us experience the whole bird.
